Cookies and storage
Last updated: October 16, 2026
This website sets no cookies at all. The Mini Locals apps and web app keep a few things on your device so they can work. Here is the full list.
1. minilocals.com
No cookies, no local storage, no analytics, no advertising. Our fonts come from our own server. Videos and images are loaded from ImageKit, which receives your IP address to deliver them (see the privacy policy).
2. In the app: storage needed to work
These entries are strictly necessary to provide the Service you asked for, so they do not need your consent. They are stored in your browser's local or session storage, or in the app's private storage.
| Purpose | Examples | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your sign-in session and account | nf_konto_v1 | Until you sign out or clear data |
| Profile, home area and settings | nf_konto_profil_v1, nf_standort_v1, nf_profile_v1, nf_tweaks_v2, nf_setup_v1 | Until you change or clear them |
| Whether we already asked for location | nf_geo_asked | Until you clear data |
| Free listening allowance and purchase steps | nf_quota_v1, nf_paywall_history, nf_konto_kauf (session) | Until you clear data; session entries until you close the tab |
| Your chats, diary and recent searches | nf_chats_v1, recent searches | Until you delete them or clear data |
| Your newsletter answer | nf_newsletter_v1 | Until you clear data |
3. In the app: analytics
To understand how Mini Locals is used and to find errors, the app uses PostHog (EU cloud). It stores a pseudonymous identifier in local storage and a first-party cookie (names beginning with "ph_"), and sends events such as screens opened, stories played and purchases completed, without names, email addresses, coordinates or free text. Session recording and automatic click tracking are switched off. Where the law requires your consent for this, we ask for it, and you can withdraw it at any time.
4. In the app: content from other services
Some content comes directly from other services, which receive your IP address and may set their own storage: maps from Google Maps, fonts from Google Fonts, streaming audio and video from Mux, images and video from ImageKit, images from Wikimedia Commons, and embedded videos from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which sets storage only when you play a video.
5. How to remove it
- In a browser: clear site data for the Mini Locals web app in your browser settings, or use a private window.
- On Android or iPhone: delete the app, or clear its storage in your phone's settings.
- To delete what we store on our servers, see delete your account.
Clearing storage signs you out and resets your settings and free allowance on that device.
